The Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater will present a Special Family Holiday concert "Concierto Navideño" presented in partnership with Northeastern Illinois University and the Department of Music and Dance Program. Concert highlights include favorites from the Ensemble's extensive repertoire of classical, folkloric and Flamenco dances and music of Spain.

The concert will feature the full company with the romantic masterworks of Dame Libby Komaiko's Romantica' (The Romantic Era) to the music of Pablo Sorozábal and Amadeu Vives' from la Zarzuela (light opera) 'Doña Francisquita'; the passionate 'Danza del Fuego' (Dance of the Fire) to the music of Pablo Luna and the breathtaking full company Flamenco Zapateado. Other company highlights include Irma Suarez Ruiz's full classical suite 'El Baile de Luis Alonso' set to the music of Geronimo Gimenez and 'La Boda de Luis Alonso-Boleras' set by guest artist, Paloma Gomez, former principal of the National Ballet of Spain. Also on the program is Mr. Ruiz's fiery Flamenco Cuadro 'Antes del Amancer' (Before Dawn) and 'No Me Olvides' (Do Not Forget Me).
